Don't be misled, the 'e' (short for 'e-waste') in the model number and the 'HP+' (short for 'hateful printer plus!') branding means that this is an insidiously invasive piece of future garbage that will end up polluting landfills in a few years (if you're *lucky*, exactly two years after the last one rolls off the assembly line and the model gets discontinued, which will probably be soon judging by the price drops) when they inevitably decide to stop supporting it to get you to buy the next one. This is an absolutely disgusting anti-consumer practice and should not be rewarded with your hard-earned money.
They subsidize this model with your data, the 'standard' printer that doesn't come with 'premium features' (mostly selling your data and having so much planned obsolescence it'd make Bernard London blush) costs about twice as much at the time of writing. It's safe to say that it'll be the frequency of printing, your location (including GPS data, instead of just IP-based and wireless SSID-based geolocation techniques. Why does it have GPS? Not any reason that's bound to be a good one for you, that's for sure. It's visible right there in the web portal, which is quite fun to discover.), if you use their ink subscription service, how often you replace the cartridge, what types of paper you commonly use, how much you use the scanner, if you primarily use the ADF or the flatbed section of the scanner, how many pages you print at a time, how many devices are on your local network, the MAC addresses of those devices (to sell for better correlation of households and habits), what type of devices they are, and so on and so forth. It's simply not enough for you to give them your hard-earned cash for the product *and* the consumables for the product, (since this is a 'plus' printer instead of a 'standard' printer, it doesn't allow for third-party cartridges, so it will either come from HP or nowhere at all) *you* have to become their product too.
This all comes together form a *comically* anti-consumer device on the whole and this practice *should not* be rewarded in any way, shape, or form. It should be derided for the disgusting and ethically bankrupt thing it is.
*Please* don't waste your time and money. You deserve much better than this.

After considering what had happened, I called the virus protection company, Sharepoint, to cancel the subscription and a very unpleasant representative told me the only way I could get a refund was to let them back into my device so they could destroy what they had done. Since there's no way I'm ever letting anyone take control of my laptop again, I'm out $250.
I blame HP for this. First, it's highly suspicious that a problem like this would pop up so soon after I cancelled the Instant Ink subscription. Then, because I was led to believe my only option was to let this one company into my computer to make the fix. I could have installed antivirus software on my own for a fraction of the price they charged me.
I will never purchase an HP product again, and encourage anyone who is thinking about doing business with them to reconsider.
Top reviews from other countries
HP ink program seems gimmicky and you don’t actually get 6months free without a subscription fee. If you need more toner better to buy that yourself. Unless it’s for a business then it’s a good plan.
Before my true career took off, I was actually employed by a local company and trained to repair printers. I did this for 1 year and I can tell you that I experienced and have seen plenty out there in this industry, from small inkjet printers to the larger network printers. And I will always say that HP is still the top dog with Lexmark nipping at its heels. Those are the only brand names that I will deal with or buy.
As for this printer, I was somewhat concerned about the cover for the paper tray. I could see that not only was it a cover but also had electronics integrated in it as well. For all intents and purposes, it works and it works well but I find it a bit flimsy for my liking. After using this printer for a month, I can say that this does not really concern me anymore. I would like to have seen more capacity with the paper tray (it is not really a tray because you lift up the cover and slide the new paper in as opposed to the cassette style that you pull out, fill with paper and push back in. Apart from that, this is a well thought out design by HP for those who need a laser printer but don't require a lot of printing. And I can't complain about the price either (I remember buying dot matrix printers for a tidy sum back in the 80's).
By the waye il imprime en noir et blanc, pas de couleur, il faut bien lire.
mais je recommande, rèpond bien à mes attentes
